On September 26th, 2021, AZUBI AFRICA was honored at the Disability Excellence Awards 2021 with the ‘Excellence in Training’ award for providing digital training experiences to persons with disabilities.
On September 8th, 2021, AZUBI AFRICA trainee, Collins Losu, became the first visually impaired learner in Ghana to receive a certification in Microsoft Azure Fundamentals.

I am Diana Dede Dagadu and I joined the Azubi Africa Students’ Program as a Business Intelligence Trainee in October 2020. Before joining, I was looking to explore other fields outside engineering after suffering a termination of contract with my former employers.
Azubi Africa gave me that opportunity, and I grabbed it speedily. The Business Intelligence training is an amazing 3-month long training that exposed me to how business value can be created with the Microsoft Power Platform. I have also acquired some soft skills as well as knowledge in Data Science and Software Development.
The Azubi community has been a lot inclusive. People can learn and develop themselves regardless of their age, gender, nationality, educational background or disability and I find this very commendable. I recommend the Azubi training to all females because I believe the world of technology needs great female minds to come out of their shells and make an impact.
I am a young man in my early thirties diagnosed with congenital glaucoma. I joined the Azubi Africa graduate program in June 2020 and after 12 weeks of intense training, I obtained skills including project cycle management, artificial intelligence, data analysis and data visualization.
The program also made it possible for me to obtain a Microsoft certification in Cloud technologies (Microsoft Azure cloud platform) and Microsoft Office 365 student licenses for all Microsoft products.
In addition, I gained soft skills including communication and negotiation, organizational ethics, team building and emotional intelligence. I currently work as a data science trainee in Azubi Africa, working on the inclusion project of Azubi Africa.
The dedicated teaching assistants, tailor-made curriculum, and the conscious effort by the entire team to make the training accessible, made my learning path very smooth.
I believe in taking advantage of technological advancement to bring change to communities. Therefore, I encourage anyone with a disability to apply for any Azubi Africa program. Inclusion is at the centre of what AZUBI AFRICA does so no one is left behind.
I remember being so excited about entering the Azubi Africa Business Intelligence program back in October 2020. The program was exactly what I was looking for – to acquire new skills and become the Data Analyst I wanted to be.
Getting access and learning how to use virtual training tools was made easy, thanks to our facilitators. The program also exposed me to many opportunities. I got involved in every activity — like becoming a Public Relations Officer of the Women In Tech Club.
Meeting career experts, mentorship with the Dean and training sessions with professionals from Microsoft were very transformational experiences — my favorite was free access to LinkedIn learning.
I never imagined building an app, but thanks to the training in Microsoft Power Platform, I developed one to help Mobile Money agents save, track transactions, and monitor performance trends of their business.
What I appreciate most about Azubi Africa is their belief in diversity and inclusion. The programs are opened to all and you don’t need a technology background to partake.
I gladly recommend this program to every woman. With all the digital transformations going on, this is the time to be a woman in technology and Azubi Africa gives you that opportunity. Don’t let it pass you by.
